Hey All,

I am trying to get a program called EZ-Ipupdate running on my router,
which will automatically update the dns record pointing to my LAN whenever
the external IP address changes. Once finished, this might help those who
have concerns about keeping a fixed IP address over an adsl connection....
your IP address will change periodically, but there will be a daemon to
update one of the many services which provide DNS record hosting (like
EasyDNS and dhs.org). When the precompiled version of this program
wouldn't run on the floppy, I asked the author about the "missing symbol"
erro, and he said this:

>no the only problem is that I compile the binarys against glibc-2.2 and
the LRP
>uses glibc-2.0. all you need to do is compile it your self and link it
against
>glibc-2.0 (or better yet the exact glibc that you use on your LRP dist).

Can someone provide advice on accomplishing this? I made the original
floppy from a precompiled image, and added some modules from Oxygen. I
could download the kernel source, or just the proper version of glibc (it
might already be on my machine, but I'm not at that computer at the
moment). And, I will of course download the source for the program. So,
once I've done all that, is "link it against glibc-2.0" just a matter of
editing a line in the config file, or the MakeFile?

Once this program's running, I'll post the custom compiled binary on my
website (http://www.26a.net). Of course, the URL won't be accessible
until I get ez-ipupdate running ;-)
