Hello. I am fairly new to Linux and would like to implement a Linux based router / firewall on my home network.
My purpose is not just to have a powerful router and secure firewall, but I am also wanting to learn along the way (so I am not necessarily looking for the simplest choice). My question is which version / flavor of LRP should I use? Or should I use another solution? Looking around it seems like there are a lot of variations available. It appears some are not actively being supported, developed or at least the websites are a bit out of date. Hardware wise, I will be using a P90 with 16MB RAM. I can boot from either floppy or CD (I think, haven't actually turned this computer on yet). I hope to use it to route to and protect my LAN, which consists of a Linux box and an XP box. Any help in making this decision would be greatly appreciated!
