It shouldn't be an issue with the firewall - are the networks in the same domain? What are you using for dns or wins? If you have multiple wins servers do they have a pull/push relationship defined. There could be lots of things wrong here... can you go to start, run and type \\192.168.1.xxx (a windows pc with shares) and get at least a dialogue box asking for a username / pass?
