I'd suggest that you first subscribe to the lear-user list at
sourceforge and second visit http://lrp.steinkuehler.net/ and check out
the documentation there. Once you get the hang of it, you can apply my
pcmcia downloads to an otherwise running installation, and you should
find drivers for the 3com and the linksys. I have two linksys cards and
haven't tested the 3com drivers, but there's no reason why it shouldn't
work.

Plunge in, follow the docs, and use the list for specific sticking
points along the way. Good luck!
