No, not at all. Your problem isn't trivial ... but neither is it very easy to understand. You need to avoid vague statements like "loaded Dach 2.2.19 on the machine", "added pcmcia module", and "Nothing seems to be working". Instead, use exact names of things, describe the tests you did and their results, and generally be specific about the details. *Examples* from this report: make and model of laptop exact names of the NIC cards which are you using as external, which as internal? are you loading Dachstein from CD or floppy? If a floppy, what packages did you include? *how* did you do the Dachstein backup of "everything"? *complete* list of modules you loaded, in load order (from /etc/modules) any error messages that appear during module loading output of "ip addr show" output of "ip link show" output of "netstat -nr" the nature of your external connection (more than that it uses dhcp) actual results of "ping a.b.c.d" for these values of a.b.c.d your external IP address 127.0.0.1 the gateway address provided by your ISP or sysadmin There's a somewhat old Troubleshooting Request HowTo (look around the LEAF site for a link to it) that will help you with this better than I can in a quickly written e-mail reply. And BTW, LPR is a printing package. Dachstein is part of the LEAF project. >I am using a DELL laptop with 3com 3CC.. card and I have a linksys card as >well.
