What you've sent us so far looks OK from the Dachstein end. Why you aren't
getting a lease is puzzling. Lynn already asked some of the right questions.
Let me ask a few more.

1. How is the router *physically* connected to RR? It should be a regular
(not crossover) Ethernet cable to an RJ45 port on the cable modem. Do you
*know* that the cable is good (*know* = does it work with other Ethernet
connections)? Do you know that the cable modem's connection to RR is good?

2. My memory of 3C509 NICs is hazy, but I seem to recall that they had
multiple connectors. Are you sure the UTP connector (the RJ45 one) is active
on the NIC, and not the BNC connector (if there is one)?

3. I see you specified a gateway address manually --

The gateway address typically comes as part of the lease information. Why
are you setting the value manually?
