I'm not sure the minimal busybox date command can be used by the hwclock command. The normal procedure is to set the system clock using date, rdate, ntpclient, or whatever, then "copy" the system time to the CMOS clock with the hwclock command. Something like: tempest: -root- # rdate time-A.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov Fri Jul 12 09:07:44 2002 tempest: -root- # hwclock --systohc --utc WARNING: It's pretty easy to get your system clock and hardware clock confused (off by the difference between your local time zone and UTC), since your hardware clock can be set to either UTC or local-time. In Dachstein, this is controlled by the GMT variable in /etc/default/rcS (see the /etc/init.d/hwclock file for details). You'll have to see if Bering does things the same way, but I'd think so... You might also want to check out the mini-article on dealing with time in LRP/LEAF archived on the c0wz site: http://c0wz.steinkuehler.net/dox/ntp.txt BTW: A quick search for hwclock on my search page (which indexes my site and my c0wz mirror) would have found this quickly (that's how I found it, but it helps that I rememberd it was there in the first place :-) http://search.steinkuehler.net/ I don't think the SF site search indexes anything other than the dynamic PHP content.
