Yes ... it is hardcoded to offload IPSec encryption/decryption tasks from 
the CPU. Don't know for sure how many users will ever need this or if 
it is just a gimmick (possibly if you are running IPSec closer to fully 
duplexed 100 Mbps speeds - probably not a very common scenario ... yet).

This looks like the e100.o module. I tried the version on the Dachstein
modules page, and couldn't get it to work either. Perhaps someone else
could verify as well.
