Let's see if we can't do this right... I'm using leaf-bering-1.0-stable (rest is after the post)
The modules/2.4.18/net/tulip.o drivers resulted in the following: #insmod tulip > Using /lib/modules/tulip.o > insmod: unresolved symbol pci_drv_unregister > insmod: unresolved symbol pci_drv_register The modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/net/tulip/tulip.o drivers, however, worked for my Macronix cards! So that is a step in the right direction. After adding my Windows box in /etc/hosts, & configuring my Windows box with 192.168.1.254 as gateway & DNS server, I was able to ping either by IP addr & the Windows box by name - but not ping the firewall by name (changed in /etc/hostname & host). Nor am I able to go online, even after pulling the power plug on my (Roadrunner) cable modem for 5 minutes. Ideas? uname: Linux waechter 2.4.18 #1 Sun Nov 10 17:40:20 UTC 2002 i586 unknown ip route show: 192.168.1.0/24 dev eth1 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.254 ip addr show: 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet 127.0.0.1/8 brd 127.255.255.255 scope host lo 2: dummy0: <BROADCAST,NOARP> mtu 1500 qdisc noop link/ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff 3: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 100 link/ether 00:80:ad:98:38:25 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff 4: eth1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 100 link/ether 00:80:ad:90:e6:d2 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff inet 192.168.1.254/24 brd 192.168.1.255 scope global eth1 __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
