So long as your ntpd.conf file names a specific server (so you don't rely on broadcasts) and you retain the default loc->net policy of ACCEPT then there is no need for any additional rules for ntp.I am running a ntp client/server behind my Bering firewall and apparently it requires no specific shorewall rules.
