Does Shorewall run before DHClient? Your interfaces should come up, then the dhcp client is run, then Shorewall. Check the "RCLINKS=" parameter in dhclient and Shorewall /etc/init.d/ scripts.. dhclient should have a lower number. What do the logs say happens during the initial attempt? > 3.
