Not really sure, but 
rmmod nicdriver
insmod nicdriver might do the trick.

Replace nicdriver with the module you are using for your network
interface ofcourse.

I use a non-standard port for outgoing ftp - and have done the
configuration described in http://www.shorewall.net/ports.htm about ftp.
Now I want to reload/restart those modules without rebooting my router.
"shorewall restart" (or stop/start) does not include my changes.

Can I get help on this in this fourm?
