Hi

First let me thank everybody to bear with me, I finally dared to cycle the bloody cablemodem and _bingo_, DHCP works.

Of course I found lots of related posts on the archives, but having a working client somhow blocked me to do the obvious, power-cycle the modem.

Sorry for the noise

Erich

I've had similar experiences with my ISP. I get 3 dhcp address, but I always
have to power cycle the modem to get the third address. This does not lose
existing leases (unless you release/renew on your client), but it clears the
arp cache of the modem which sometimes appears to keep old leases in the
arp cache.
