Michael, Ray, Lynn, It looks simple enough.
I set it up as so: /etc/dnscache/env/IP 0.0.0.0 /etc/tinydns-private/env/IP 127.0.0.1 /etc/tinydns-public/env/IP 192.168.10.254 ps shows two tinydns processes I copied the etc/tinydns-private/root/data file I had over to etc/tinydns-public/root/data. =localhost:127.0.0.1 localhost:127.0.0.1:a 1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa:127.0.0.1:a kroffts.home:127.0.0.1:a 1.168.192.in-addr.arpa:127.0.0.1:a =markii.kroffts.home:192.168.1.254 =coventry.kroffts.home:192.168.1.1 =mail.kroffts.dmz:192.168.10.1 @kroffts.dmz:192.168.10.1:mail.kroffts.dmz @10.168.192.in-addr.arpa::mail.kroffts.dmz I added kroffts.dmz:192.168.10:a 1.10.168.192.in-addr.arpa:mail.kroffts.dmz to it to get it to WORK!!! Yes! The mail client is now able to retrieve mail almost instantly! Thank you all!!!! The one last issue remaining is that in configuring this all. I have lost the ability to browse the weblet on the dmz from my local lan. I can use a dial up account to view the pages so I know it is up. Yesterday I briefly loaded Maradns to check it out and in the default config I was able to access the weblet so It almost has to be a DNS issue. Internet explorer reports that the web site is found but it can't display it. Mozilla reports that the page contains no data. What do I need to add to the data file to make it work? Here is a tcpdump of the transaction as seen by the router: 09:58:06.003108 192.168.1.1.1448 > 192.168.10.1.80: S 2847341613:2847341613(0) win 65535 <mss 1460,nop,nop,sackOK> (DF) 0x0000 4500 0030 97cf 4000 7f06 d7a5 c0a8 0101 [EMAIL PROTECTED] 0x0010 c0a8 0a01 05a8 0050 a9b6 fc2d 0000 0000 .......P...-.... 0x0020 7002 ffff 4af0 0000 0204 05b4 0101 0402 p...J........... 09:58:06.003488 192.168.10.1.80 > 192.168.1.1.1448: S 403591432:403591432(0) ack 2847341614 win 5840 <mss 1460,nop,nop,sackOK> (DF) 0x0000 4500 0030 dfd1 4000 4006 cea3 c0a8 0a01 [EMAIL PROTECTED]@....... 0x0010 c0a8 0101 0050 05a8 180e 5108 a9b6 fc2e .....P....Q..... 0x0020 7012 16d0 caf8 0000 0204 05b4 0101 0402 p............... 09:58:06.004012 192.168.1.1.1448 > 192.168.10.1.80: . ack 1 win 65535 (DF) 0x0000 4500 0028 97d0 4000 7f06 d7ac c0a8 0101 E..([EMAIL PROTECTED] 0x0010 c0a8 0a01 05a8 0050 a9b6 fc2e 180e 5109 .......P......Q. 0x0020 5010 ffff 0e8d 0000 P....... 09:58:06.004302 192.168.1.1.1448 > 192.168.10.1.80: P 1:439(438) ack 1 win 65535 (DF) 0x0000 4500 01de 97d1 4000 7f06 d5f5 c0a8 0101 [EMAIL PROTECTED] 0x0010 c0a8 0a01 05a8 0050 a9b6 fc2e 180e 5109 .......P......Q. 0x0020 5018 ffff bc92 0000 4745 5420 2f20 4854 P.......GET./.HT 0x0030 5450 2f31 2e31 0d0a 486f 7374 3a20 3139 TP/1.1..Host:.19 0x0040 322e 3136 382e 3130 2e31 0d0a 5573 6572 2.168.10.1..User 0x0050 2d41 6765 6e74 3a20 4d6f 7a69 6c6c 612f -Agent:.Mozilla/ 0x0060 352e 3020 2857 696e 646f 7773 3b20 553b 5.0.(Windows;.U; 0x0070 2057 696e 646f 7773 204e 5420 352e 303b .Windows.NT.5.0; 0x0080 2065 6e2d 5553 3b20 7276 3a31 2e33 2920 .en-US;.rv:1.3). 0x0090 4765 636b 6f2f 3230 3033 3033 3132 0d0a Gecko/20030312.. 0x00a0 4163 6365 7074 3a20 7465 7874 2f78 6d6c Accept:.text/xml 0x00b0 2c61 7070 6c69 6361 7469 6f6e 2f78 6d6c ,application/xml 0x00c0 2c61 7070 6c69 6361 7469 6f6e 2f78 6874 ,application/xht 0x00d0 6d6c 2b78 6d6c 2c74 6578 742f 6874 6d6c ml+xml,text/html 0x00e0 3b71 3d30 2e39 2c74 6578 742f 706c 6169 ;q=0.9,text/plai 0x00f0 6e3b 713d 302e 382c 7669 6465 6f2f 782d n;q=0.8,video/x- 0x0100 6d6e 672c 696d 6167 652f 706e 672c 696d mng,image/png,im 0x0110 6167 652f 6a70 6567 2c69 6d61 6765 2f67 age/jpeg,image/g 0x0120 6966 3b71 3d30 2e32 2c2a 2f2a 3b71 3d30 if;q=0.2,*/*;q=0 0x0130 2e31 0d0a 4163 6365 7074 2d4c 616e 6775 .1..Accept-Langu 0x0140 6167 653a 2065 6e2d 7573 2c65 6e3b 713d age:.en-us,en;q= 0x0150 302e 350d 0a41 6363 6570 742d 456e 636f 0.5..Accept-Enco 0x0160 6469 6e67 3a20 677a 6970 2c64 6566 6c61 ding:.gzip,defla 0x0170 7465 2c63 6f6d 7072 6573 733b 713d 302e te,compress;q=0. 0x0180 390d 0a41 6363 6570 742d 4368 6172 7365 9..Accept-Charse 0x0190 743a 2049 534f 2d38 3835 392d 312c 7574 t:.ISO-8859-1,ut 0x01a0 662d 383b 713d 302e 372c 2a3b 713d 302e f-8;q=0.7,*;q=0. 0x01b0 370d 0a4b 6565 702d 416c 6976 653a 2033 7..Keep-Alive:.3 0x01c0 3030 0d0a 436f 6e6e 6563 7469 6f6e 3a20 00..Connection:. 0x01d0 6b65 6570 2d61 6c69 7665 0d0a 0d0a keep-alive.... 09:58:06.004556 192.168.10.1.80 > 192.168.1.1.1448: . ack 439 win 6432 (DF) 0x0000 4500 0028 97c1 4000 4006 16bc c0a8 0a01 E..([EMAIL PROTECTED]@....... 0x0010 c0a8 0101 0050 05a8 180e 5109 a9b6 fde4 .....P....Q..... 0x0020 5010 1920 f3b6 0000 0101 080a 01e3 P............. 09:58:11.029429 192.168.10.1.80 > 192.168.1.1.1448: R 1:1(0) ack 439 win 6432 (DF) 0x0000 4500 0028 a4c6 4000 4006 09b7 c0a8 0a01 E..([EMAIL PROTECTED]@....... 0x0010 c0a8 0101 0050 05a8 180e 5109 a9b6 fde4 .....P....Q..... 0x0020 5014 1920 f3b2 0000 0101 080a 01e3 P.............
