Thank you Erich & Ronny! Ronny, Yes "since you ask a question like that i guess you typed ip addr add.....etc.etc in shell instead of adding to interfaces file ???"...that's exactly what I did. I was concerned about what to back up, but Charles told me to back up etc.lrp to save my changes.
