Yeeps! 70KB/s? I run a p133 with 16mb ram Bering Uclibc 2.1 with a 10Mb/s 3com 509b card to the modem on a 5/1 Mb/s cable link. I consistently pull 500KB/s to 600KB/s+ (don't ask - I know it's a mathematical quandary!) using DAP to ftp sites all over the place. Makes for really easy re-installs via ftp of botched SuSe boxes. =-)
I used to run on a 486sx25 with no problems but when I added a whole slew of 3des ipsec tunnels to the box I decided it may be prudent to beef it up a bit. The other posters are right as well on the fact that your 70KB/s roughly translates to 700Kb/s of bandwidth...your nic and fw don't appear to be a bottleneck. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Nosko" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "leaf" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 7:10 PM Subject: [leaf-user] Is my NIC the bottleneck? > pn] I'm still running E2B on a P166.
