Yes, Erich you are right.  It is just an RSA key that pops up in a
dialogue box for acceptance from the client (in this case putty).

Is that a _real_ certificate or _just_ a RSA key pair you used? AFAIK 
ssl and IPsec are using X.509 certificates, although IPsec can run with 
RSA keys. Uncertain about the key format though.
