1. The wd1100 driver is already built in leaf-bering
when you compile the kernel, just need to copy it to
your compact flash.  
2. You'll need to create a char device node name "wd"
10,130.
3. build watchdog from say busybox. 
4. on bootup run something like:
insmod wd1100
echo 0 > /proc/sys/dev/wd/graceful
echo 20 > /proc/sys/dev/wd/timeout
watchdog -t 10 /dev/wd
