Hi folks

does anyone know how to resize /var/log _without_ rebooting the LEAF
box. I stopped ksyslogd, ntp and ulogd, rmoved all files from the
/var/log directory but still cannot umount it.

# /etc/init.d/sysklogd stop
Stopping system log daemon: klogd syslogd.

telecom: -root-
# /etc/init.d/ulogd stop
Stopping ulogd: ulogd.

telecom: -root-
# /etc/init.d/ntp stop
Stopping NTP server: ntpd.

telecom: -root-
# cd /var/log

telecom: -root-
# ls
auth.log daemon.log messages ntpstats
shorewall.log ulogd.log
cron.log debug ntpd ppp.log syslog

telecom: -root-
# rm -rf *

telecom: -root-
# ls

telecom: -root-
# cd /

telecom: -root-
# umount -f /var/log
umount: forced umount of tmpfs failed!

Thanks

Erich
