Hi Scott,

I understand your concerns, but I still think that if you remove packages,
reboot, change things and save the new configuration, old stale config
files from packages that don't exist anymore should be removed. And of
course the technical implications of having two different backup
methods...

There is also an other option, a simple add on script can be created that
automatically saves the previous configdb to a configdb.bak.
