I am abroad right now for the next few months and not sure if I can do 
much in the meantime.
The way I understood the docs is that OpenSwan is using iproute2 right 
now if compiled with the right parameters, I am not sure about the 
current setting but will try to connect to my server if possible. I 
don't think we need to patch the scripts anymore.
