I was with you until a few months ago. I set one up for work (@tvetuk if
anyone's interested) and noticed it was quite useful so I set up my own and
now I follow breaking news sources, footballers, journos, odd celebs etc.
In fact Keith Chegwin follows me now as he had a twitter argument with a
load of comedians without a sense of humour and I waded into defend him.

I don't "tweet" as such but its effectively my own personal news feed with
things I am interested in hence I wondered how many Leeds players were on
there. It proved its worth for the world cup draw when suddenly word got
round we hadn't won before it was announced.

On matchdays #twitterwhites #lufc are useful to keep an eye on.

I simply cannot understand the success of Twitter. Perhaps if you're in
the media or frontline politicians but beyond that.... can someone
please explain? A sentence or two here or there from whomever it is -
is it some reflection of a need to garner responses or wha? Z-list celeb
culture taking over the world with people "following"
never-was-talented-but-famous-god-knows-why d-lister?? ;->

That's not to say I'm against such things - although an infrequent user
of Facebook e.g. to share photos of the nippers with my far flung
immediate family and quite a few old friends that I/we'd lost contact
with have been have been in touch....

Dr Mike - your big moment for some bona fide shrink expertise input
here!

Me too. Lord knows why!

Long term, I think Twitter has more legs than Facebook, although it will
ceaselessly infuriate grammar pedants.
