On July 6th 2012 it was confirmed that Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Isa Al
Khalifa had completed his takeover of English football club Leeds United for
a reported £50 Million. The announcement on Bahrain's premier sports channel
bought to an end weeks of speculation regarding Leeds' new owners.
Interestingly, he had tried to purchase the club in 2003, however the move
was blocked by his brothers
