Quite right Nick the cross to Pearce for the second was indeed Mowatt - I have seen it on TV. Also from TV it did look a penalty BUT he did not have control of the ball so it was not a clear goal scoring opportunity and so he should not have been sent off. Perhaps the ref follows the Sky experts rules rather than the rules of the game and decided the keeper was 'the last man' ?
I also agree that for the most part they were woeful and still caused us problems - I always want to concentrate on us but I suppose I should have made it plainer how bad they were Also their goal was a real 'lets all turn off at the same time' moment. one that we have seen so often since McAllister, and no manager has yet sorted out. I guess that Wootton got dropped because despite being steady he has fallen into the same habits As for Cairns , the last I read Ashdown was injured and I do not think he has been playing for the reserves / development squad Dave ________________________________ From: "n...@6haroldplace.co.uk" <n...@6haroldplace.co.uk> To: "nat...@sky.com" <nat...@sky.com>; leeds list <leedslist@gn.apc.org> Cc: "n.al...@adm.leeds.ac.uk" <n.al...@adm.leeds.ac.uk> Sent: Wednesday, 2 October 2013, 8:17 Subject: Re: [LU] Bournemouth Hi Dave - thanks for the 4am effort - a few things I saw differently, but on the whole agree with the main points - I had Mowatt as man of the match, the kid can really play, let's hope he keeps progressing - but I know why you picked Warnock, he had a good game, good to see attacking agression from a FB - and that cross for Ross McC's goal was a peach. I thought Mowatt crossed in for the second but there you go. As you say we could have had a boatload last night (and maybe if Ross' penalty hadn't been so woeful, who knows...) but let's not kid ourselves Bournemouth were dreadful...and we almost threw it away...and they only had 10 men. Hopefully that was one of those "confidence" games where it doesn't matter if you win by an 89th minute deflection of your keeper's arse...as long as you win. I don't know where you sit Dave, but no-one round us (Kop, west stand side) thought it was a penalty - Hunt had pushed the ball past the keeper and was never going to catch it...not even sure about the amount of contact...but to add on a sending off as well was plain ridiculous. We did have a much better shout for a penalty later in the half when Warnock was body checked in the box, but that ref is never going to award us another penalty as long as he works. I prefer Lees to Pearce and would be happier watching Lees partner Wootton...even in injury time Pearce was done for speed and was all over the forward going through and on the edge of the box as well, fortunately Paddy was awake enough and just got in first...he is an accident waiting to happen. But to be fair to him, Pearce had had a steady game - goal aside - and what did happen for their goal? - Bournemouth got in 3 unchallenged touches in our penalty area, bloody criminal... . _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER
