In terms of wrong tactics , yes the diamond didn't work but if you look at the personnel at his disposal what was he supposed to do ? There is no width at all in the team so you can't really play a standard 4-4-2. Also would Mourinho do any better in this league with a midfield of Austin, Bianchi, Murphy , Tonge? I don't think so. The Hock did bring in Lewis Cook and my only criticism would be that he didn't have the faith to start with him over Murphy.
Up front, Smith looks unfit to me , as does Billy Sharp so I don't think the Hock could have done too much more. We've got shit players - BMD and Warnock both had failing teams and so nothing much has changed.
