Well we came away reasonably happy but only due to a last gasp brilliant
equaliser by Wood, and to be honest I am not sure we deserved itWe could easily
have been 3 down at half time after a first 45mins when they were all over us.
Apart from Antonsson beating his man but failing to beat the keeper one on one
(v similar to QPR game) and a Wood header that went wide and was offside anyway
we created nothing really, one cross from Dallas did seem to just elude the
strikers but how close any of them were to it was hard to see.Fulham on the
other hand carved us open a few times and hit the post, the bar and made Green
pull off two saves. Matt Smith  hit the bar (2nd half) had a header under
pressure from both CBs and went straight at Green, and then was through on goal
but his lack of pace meant that he was soon caught.
We looked lost but did improve second half without really troubling them. Then
with 15 mins left they got a corner, we never cleared it from our half and then
their lad lashed it in from a hard angle. This took the steam out of a crowd
who had spent the whole second half really trying to lift the team and get
behind them.
Then with minutes to go Antonsson slipped between the defenders and put in a
cross that Wood had to score from but no he headed it into the ground and over
the bar. Game over we all thought but then another cross came in  in injury
time and Wood with his back to goal produced a great overhead kick and the ball
ended in the net. Cue celebrations and releif in the stands and an insult from
Wood as he cupped his ear to the Kop. Silly boy -OK not Mark Aizlewood but not
the way to quiten his critics on a day when he was rubbish again and when the
crowd had really gone to town to try and get behind the team
So not great and it will take more than Bridcutt to turn things around, but
there were spells again when we looked half decent and given time and a couple
more (more than the 9 already brought in) signings things could look up. This
point will mean that Monk will not be sacked just yet and may give Wood some
much needed confindence
