Weird to say that my thought on leaving the ground was how proud I am to be Leeds . The fans, all game, but especially last 10 minutes and the 5 after it finished showed how we are in fact special . Brighton were booed off after a 0 0 draw with us, I saw Everton players receiving so much abuse from their travelling fans they stopped half way to applauding them , scum fans rushing for the exits with 20mins to go etc, and yet here we were 1-4 down being hammered following our biggest defeat in living memory and yet 90%of fans stayed to the end and beyond with all four stands proudly singing Bielsas name “ and we all love Leeds” - amazingLike many the latest covid outbreak made me ( or at least my wife) consider if I should even go - we compromised on me staying out of the pub to limit the risk , so I could easily have come home wishing I had not bothered - instead I was so pleased to have been there not watching on tv As for the match - we were hammered , with only 4 outfield players being part of our best XI - Raph , Forshaw , Dallas and Ayling, with the latter two out of position, it was always going to be hard v a resurgent Arsenal. We made it even harder for ourselves as our experienced players had nightmares , Klich the main culprit, and we kept giving the ball away. The only good takeaways on the pitch were Meslier who kept it down to 4 and Gelhardt who has to become a regular starter We will be stuffed by Liverpool and then come the games that will proove if we are done or staying up - especially Newcastle and Burnley st home , win them and we will be fine , and if the fans stay behind them as they were yesterday then with a few players getting fit we can win both Not much else to say - once again Arsenal put 4 past us like they used to in Thierry Henry’s day, so who cares “We all love Leeds “ enough said Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org
