I pretty much agree with that. Am sad for 3 main reasons;

1. I think we are now more likely to go down. A new manager with no experience of English football, taking over a group of players who clearly love Bielsa is very risky. He practically has no different options who to play - most Leeds fans have generally supported the team selection - the only real debate is about who plays upfront. He'll probably stop defenders chasing into midfield too much but equally i doubt we'll play like we did against Villa or West Ham again this season.

2. For what Bielsa achieved, both in promotion and culture change, i'd risk relegation to let him go out on his own terms. We are in a much better state than 4 years ago. Parachute payments and huge transfer fees incoming would make us huge favourites to come back up.

3. We've changed from the Ken Bates club, the Cellino club, a Warnock team, a Steve Evans team. We are now a Bielsa team recognised around the world and something all fans are proud of. We will be ordinary again in a years time - whatever league we are in.

I would have kept Bielsa until the end of the season.
From a practical point of view, in that I believe no-one else will get more out of these players, that we will be better for the return of players of the importance of Bamford, Phillips and Cooper, and that there are at least 3 teams I consider to be worse than us. From a romantic point of view, Bielsa deserved to ride off into the sunset on his own terms, and that football today lost a little bit of its soul in prioritising prospective results over the enjoyment and entertainment that a one-off like Marcelo has brought to the Premiership. Non-Leeds fans I've been in touch with today, many of whom have no love for our club, are also lamenting the fact that (almost certainly) his brand of football will not be seen on these shores again, having been royally entertained by LUFC for the last three and a half years, win, lose or draw.
