When we got a free kick in a dangerous position early in the second half last night I predicted that Summerville would step up and shoot straight into the wall, but I was wrong. In fact, Piroe stepped up and put it straight into the wall instead. This is why I was sorry to see Sam Greenwood go out on loan, but I suppose that being the best set piece taker available doesn't get you selected if your all round game isn't quite good enough. (See also James Ward-Prouse and England). But the players who are still with us are a talented bunch, so surely there must be at least one of them we could train up to become a free kick specialist. Can't Daniel Farke just pick one and tell them to practise? I think Sumerville is excellent and I agree that he could go right to the top. I think he's got more 'in his locker' than Sterling ever had. I see Farke was talking about Ayling and his decision to exclude him from the squad because of Gray and Spence's inclusion. Said it was one of the hardest decisions he's had to make. Unfortunately, Ayling has declined rapidly and everytime he plays now you can see his legs have gone. I think Liam C is on the way as well.
