However - we started with a good line up on paper, but our 4-4-2 struggled
against their 4-5-1: this allowd them a player between our back four and the
midfield four. Derry and Bakke didn't pick him up and neither Butler not
Killa could come forward to him. Norwich were battering us and could ahve
been 3-0 ater 30mins.
KB obvously spotted this and we went 4-5-1 with Healy on the right and stone
getting forward to support Horsefield. We had some quite good chances, btu
Norwich had the better ones going up to half time. Silly pen to give away -
Stone was moving away from goal before being brought down. Good pen from
Healy.
Second half Norwich came at us for 5-10mins and could have equalised, but
after that we were the much more comfortable side.
Less long ball stuff and we kept possession quite well in the second half.
Ironic that we looked better at 4-5-1 than 4-4-2.1
Players
Killa - barely a foot wrong
Stone - once he moved to central midfield.
Carole - comfortable on the ball, kept possession
Crainey - best game I've seen hium have
Warner - would like to sign him permanently
Kelly - ran and ran
Butler - some good tackles, shocking distribution
Horsefield - lacks pace, but great first touch (better than Hulse), put
himself about.
Healy - played well - looked better in the 4-5-1 than last year - got
himself into the box more
Bakke - looked knackered most of the game and I'd hoped for much more from
him
Derry - didn't start well but got better - suspect he's building up his
fitness
Lewis - ususal self - rarely beat his man and only managed a handful of even
half decent crosses
Westlake looked tidy
Moore - ran about a bit.
A narrow 3 points against a strong side.
Cautious optimism now I think...
