That explains the £1.75m fee!

If this is true then the board did well to get it when he could have walked in the summer for nowt.

Havent been on the list for years so apologies if this has already been discussed but why are we taking coventry reserves, barnet players etc... when there are decent young players looking for loans from prem clubs. That £2m fee for the arsenal kid who scored 16 is a joke and he wont make it but Liverpool have a decent youth team set up at present and if we dont have any of our own to bring through then they are being blocked by a bunch of spaniards from breaking through and would be only too happy to drive their BMW X5s up along the M62 while listening to RnB.

I know its sad but the same with boro, dozens of young lads coming through.

Most of our new signings flo, sa heath are only here till the end of the season so they can all be equally loyal together.

Is it just me or the wild optimism that engulfed me after the final whistle v Cov has oozed away completely!

Is this the same super loyal Kilgallon? :-

KILGALLON UPSET WITH LEEDS OFFER
Wednesday 14th April 2004

Leeds United will face a battle to hang onto starlet Matthew Kilgallon -
with the youngster yet to agree a new deal despite his current contract
ending in the summer. The promising defender made a breakthrough to the
Leeds senior squad this season, after a brief loan spell with West Ham.

A goal against Southampton in January raised his profile with the fans, but
the Premiership strugglers have yet to agree a new contract with the
20-year-old and his agents the Stellar Group.

"Given the new contract offer that Leeds have made to Matthew, one can only
conclude that he does not figure very highly in their future plans," Stellar
group chairman Jonathan Barnett confirmed to the agency's website.

"It was not what Matthew nor I were expecting and has left us very
disappointed."

Clubs who wish to prise the defender away from Leeds would have to pay
compensation, due the player's age, but any fee is likely to be minimal.
