Tim, I sort of know what you mean - I haven't fallen out of love with Leeds
United, I've fallen out of love with football altogether, the whole thing now
seems so openly sordid and corrupt.
Whoever it was compared the Revie era side to Chelsea, as the side everyone
loves to hate, is wrong because the reasons are wrong, we were hated for being
agressive, meticulous in preperation - the Don Dossiers, professional (in
every sense) and for being likely to turn up at your ground stuff your team and
level your town centre and train station on the way in and out.
Chelsea on the other hand are hated for one simple reason, the deep rooted
knowledge in the heart of every fan even those who've never set foot in a
ground
that they are going to win pretty much everything for the foreseeable future
simply because Roman Abramovich can reach into his pocket and keep throwing
money at it until everything is done. A couple of weeks ago the press were
praising Mohurino for having the courage to put his £30 million pound striker
on
the bench - no one apart from the fans might have pointed out that
a-he's the only manager in the country who could buy a £30 million pound
player
b-if it doesnt work out with Shevchenko - Roman will buy him someone else
next week.
For the benefit of those who live outside London I'm not even going to get
started about the new breed of vile Chavski fans, the bastard offspings of
Maggie Thatcher and Peter Kenyon only without the social graces.......
Just look around, outside of the top four and for some unkown reason
Newcastle, crowds are falling at every level, empty seats at "big clubs" like
Villa
and Man City, not to mention the acres of space at Wigan, Blackburn and
Reading......
I could go on - and on :-) - but whats the point, we all know its true
accross the board and theres Foxtrot Alpha we can do about it.
