I take it that all of you so concerned about the club's future have read
today's Private Eye (Eye 1187) and in particular the piece on page 31
about Batesgate.

It quotes the KPMG report:

"Leeds breached its agreement with the taxman by not making its
£2000,000 monthly payment in March this year. This failure and a second
non-payment in April triggered a winding up petition from the Taxman on
April 17th" I have had sight of this report, so I think we can take it
as being a true statement as the taxman has never denied this either.
Aware of this or not, Astor was made a major secured creditor on April
the 4th.

I think that this tells us quite clearly why the Taxman is an unhappy
bunny. It also raises important questions about KPMG's role in all this
as they failed to ascertain exactly the details of the ultimate
beneficiaries of Astor Krato or FSF. Private Eye clearly explains the
measures KPMG might have taken if it was treating the issue seriously.

It then goes on to compare this to Swan management which was the vehicle
used by bates to control Chelsea.

Buy a copy. There's a cracking Yobettes cartoon next to the piece too.

Betty
