TEP reported that Bates offered 10p in the pound for creditors. Redbus
offered the same. Those offers were unconditional. redbus offered
sginificantly more if the goldend sahe was granted (ie that bit was
conditional) and I think Bates offered more on promotion, etc (less over
all than redbus). I don't know how much (if any) of Bates' bid was based
on astor waiving their debt (and we definitely don't know what they get
back in return for doing this - and I'm very worried about that. Are they
effectively the new "bond holders" from the Ridsdale era?).
Pearson/Wilkinson is supposed to have offered way more than either of the
other two, but only if the FL guaranteed the golden share, but it's
against FL rules to do this unless the CVA has been completed and they
were (are) clearly worried that to do so would encourage legal action from
other clubs that have been through CVA and adhered to that rule.
