It is easy to assume that HMRC makes challenges based on political pressure but.where is there any evidence or precedence upon which to base your assumption ?. Nobody is claiming that the MPs sought to help to avoid any challenge and it is unclear why they should do so. MPs do not need an excuse to get involved. It is their job and duty to get involved. It is totally unclear what you consider to be "screwing down" the FL. It is also unclear why anyone should screw them down or even if such a thing is possible or even why it is required. I also do not like my club being used to shit stir but I bear in mind who put the shit there in the first place. If the shit begins to smell so bad it is hardly surprising if people want it to be cleared up.
