This is a very serious email....I do want your input, if you are aware
of the football system in England. Please spare me the so-called funny
stuff. This has to do with my four grand-kids, and I am very serious
about their future in OUR game.

I have a 16-year old grandson who is what is called level four referee
in Canada. I am trying to tell him that he has a better future in being
an official than a player.

I have a 13 year-old grandson who is quite small, but very fast, and
wants to pursue playing the game.....he's been playing for two years at
the select level. The organization he's in is typical of what is wrong
with Canadian soccer (football). Now one person, not a coach, is
deciding who should be on select teams and who should go by the
wayside. He is one who got dumped. My belief is, there should be
someone who is a certified coach who should be in the selection
process. What say you all?

At what level in England is the age where a coach HAS to be certified to
coach that level. My guess is U-11, but I may be wrong, it could be
earlier.

Some of the things that cause Canadian football to be where it is, in
the trash....and more reasons why Canada couldn't score one goal in
three games in the World U-20 prelim. round.

If you want to weigh in on this, you would be thanked for ever. I know
there are qualified coaches and refs on our esteemed list. Please step
forward. You do not have to email to the list.....please send direct if
you wish.

Many thanks to all for your input

Grampa Sykes
