The AFC Leeds option is a potentially serious direction given where the club is
possibly about to end up. OK, it's inconceivable in our hearts that LUFC could
go, but having learnt the lessons the hard way over the last 6 years then a
club who's model we could mostly all support would get my backing. In the
longer term of course we'd get Chairman Betty and Chief Exec Rick D telling us
why we need to pay 2k a season ticket, although there are Spanish club models
that might just work, as long as you have a rock-solid constitution allied to a
few local 'philanthropists'.

Whilst the Scum version split their fans, if there is no LUFC that's a
completely different proposition isn't it?

Bates can't bully the FL into letting him takeover the golden share? No
Leeds United or AFC Leeds - with a worldwide fan base. How would the
non-league football world cope with a beast that could command 10K fans at
every game or whose worldwide support demanded radio coverage of previously
unheard of levels of the football pyramid?
Pray tell what will be the difference between you supporting LUFC in the 3rd
division and AFCL in the north east counties? You'll still have to dig
around for news but the news just might be brighter and about the football -
which would be nice.
Club before Chairman has no relevance to Side before Self - it's not even a
similar analogy. Side before self would suggest that despite your misgivings
if the rest of the LUFC family though AFC Leeds was a good idea you would
give it your whole hearted support. If Bates manages to maintain a League 1
club I admit you'll still get some coverage on the other side of the world.
But considering the imminent free agent status of players, LUFC could well
either be relegated or ejected before Bates gets his golden share.
