Well it is still potentially valid, after all don't the FL want the new
buyout scrapped and go back to the existing CVA?

If that happened would people write to their mps again and ask them to urge
HMRC to drop their case?

I guess it isn't just a case of who is actually blocking bates, but who
(still) wants him blocked.  That is also potentially valid as whichever
parties are able to block him (FL) might take some sustenance from some
public support for their actions.

I think all Leeds fans should be concentrating on the FL granting the golden
share, instead of vague flower protests which every party could take some
encouragement from as it isn't focussed on any one goal apart from a general
mourning over what is happening to the club.
