Morning Pete,

Go and check the analogy again as the two just don't match up. If Leeds were to
play Manure again both teams would start out with the same number of players
and have the same rules and have an impartial referee, if a manure player got
sent off, yes, that would be to Leeds' advantage but it wouldn't have been the
fault of the either the referee or Leeds.

Now lets substitute Bates for Manure (some may say appropriate), Leeds for any
other Bidder and Astor for Referee, as a theory Astor (like the referee) should
be impartial after all the are owed money and generally if you are owed then it
doesn't matter who pays it back just as long as you get it back.
However, in this instance the two team captains are talking to the referee in
the centre circle and the referee says he only wants Manure to win and as a
consequence to make sure that manure win he is going to give them a tactical
advantage.

Now back to the real world. The only way another bid was going to win this was
to come up with enough money to pay the creditors more than Bates AND come up
with the cash to pay off the major creditor given that Astor said that they
would ONLY let bates off of paying them back.

Given the terms of the bidding it would be like expecting a 5-a-side team to
beat Brazil in the World Cup final.

BTW I never said it wasn't legal, I just said a bit fishy

Cheers

Chris

Chris - Whoever said it had to be a level playing field??

If we play ManU and they get a player sent off (obviously not at OT) would
you want Leeds to volunteer a man to go off from our side too???

Of course not - if you have an advantage, you use it

100% legal - I just wish folks would get over this (not so much you
personally)
