Sounds like you've already written your own letter...

Afraid to sign your name to it? Need someone else to do your work for you?
Bit like not doing the research, for yourself in the earlier arguments eh?

Now I can see where you have things in common with Mr Bates..... [EMAIL

everybody over, calls them names and then expects them to bend over
backwards to help him out of the hole he dug for himself....

Unbelievable the lot of you... May you both get what you truly deserve...

Subject: Re: [LU] Supporters Trust appeals for volunteers

Secret squirrel's back to his tricks again!

I don't know what the trust is planning - and I don't think the cloak &
dagger approach is particularly helpful - but I HOPE it's an attempt to put
some
pressure on the FL about the 15-point deduction.

It appears there is a great deal of sympathy out there for our plight, and
it MAY be possible to get the FL, and other clubs at board level, believing

that the punishment is far too harsh - which, quite frankly, it is.

LUFC has effectively been docked 25 points for failing to comply with FL
procedures, for reasons outside the club's control - ie the challenge to the
CVA
by HMRC. Thischallenge was a direct result of FL/FA policy re football debts

- and it appears that HMRC will from now on challenge EVERY CVA on the same

grounds.

No football matches were affected by anything that happened, and clearly no

playing advantage was gained last season.

At the same time, West Ham fielded an ineligible player, gaining an unfair
advantage which resulted in Sheff Utd being relegated. For this offence -
and
WHU admit guilt - they were docked no points at all.

Over in Italy, clubs such as AC Milan received far smaller points
deductions
for blatant match-fixing and bribery.

I would love to see the Trust, in its official capacity, pick up this issue

and draft a well-written, heartfelt, polite - but firm - letter to the FL -

and to all other League club chairmen, and their associated supporters'
groups.

The letter would state basically that the 15-point deduction is grossly
disproportionate to the offences committed, especially when set against
other
points deductions given to other clubs in other leagues, where the offences
were
far worse.

The letter would ask the FL what it sought to achieve by imposing such a
stringent penalty on a club that clearly has suffered greatly in recent
seasons
due to the incompetence of previous boards. How does kicking Leeds while
it's
down help the club to recover and rebuild? And the real victims are the
fans,
who simply want to see an end to the club's woes and for the club to be
given a fair chance for the long rebuilding process to begin.

The letter would point out there was a groundswell of grass-roots sympathy
for Leeds and that the League should take note of this, and indeed it would
not
be embarrassed by backing down. Indeed, it might gain respect.

By way of a compromise, might a fair solution, that saves face for
Mawhinney
and co, be to offset the new 15-point deduction against the 10-point
deduction from last season, leaving us a manageable minus 5?

This would give us a decent chance of survival and allow us an outside
chance of the playoffs if all goes well? Surely other clubs want to see a
contest
- with a -15pt start our season could be over by Xmas - that could have
consequences for the rest of the league if we have nothing to play for.

So, Rick. Am I warm? Are you planning something like this? If you are,
count
me in.

Mark
