I am precisely at this point: Windows vs Apple in the buying of a new
laptop/PC. So far I'm holding fire to hear what the reviews are on the
new Mac OS, but ultimately i've not got a clue as to which to go for....

I doubt i'll be going far beyond multi media muppetry (photos, dvds,
browsing etc) but in the end a half decent windows based laptop i.e. not
the lowest range of HP or Toshiba, in terms of price will be not short
of an iBook or iMac ?

Apologies in advance for sullying this forum with geek stuff...

Speak to Thirkers. He's the only Mac expert I know.
Personally I find them too "pretty" and the lack of a right mouse
button does my head in.
Saying that, they are very, very pretty.
Not for me though, give me a good old fashioned DOS prompt any day.

  Best wises,

  Hi
All you techies.
I have at home 2 PC's . One very new using Vista..... I like it. The
older one uses XP. I do a lot of work with Dreamweaver, Spry, other AJAX
stuff, Coldfusion, mySQL, SQL . Iam building all the time stuff to
manage or treat a Psychiatric Care System for 500K insurees . There is a
lot of data as you can imagine. I am auto-didactic -- I think that is
important. I like learning the stuff myself ---on todays 'Net there aint
nowt you cannot find.
Learning curves are a matter of determination OK, so what is my point?
I want to replace my Lap Top. I have always 'fancied, without knowing
why, using Macintosh. I 'fancy' getting a Mac LT.
Is that a good idea?
Would I have difficulties with compatibilities or getting the stuff on
the Lap Top and PC's to 'converse'? Would I get advantages?
Sorry for using the list but I have seen and got some expert opinion in
the past.
Regards
Michael
