The Catholic Church throughout the middle ages (crusades) and until very recently the missionaries abroad, Spanish Inquisition, closer to home (for me) just look at the muppets in Northern Ireland (BOTH sides) etc...
If people would practicse their flamin' faith the way it's supposed to be there'd be no trouble at all. The problem is it is human nature to form divisions and tramp over each other to get to control the rest.
