Nowt up with the Fazer, I have had a couple (FZS not the newer FZ6 or FZ1), 
both the 600 and the thou, they were great bikes for mile munching. It was 
much better than the Honda / suzuki offerings, good tank range, suspension 
was a bit soft on the twisties when feeding it the berries.

Just as long as the bike isn't an H-D or goldwing I am ok, if it has to be a 
cruiser I particularly don't like the versions with leather tassled panniers 
;o)

As as alternative you should try one of the BMW GS type adventure bikes. 
Great riding position and comfort, built to withstand a direct hit from an 
anti-tank missile and holds it value better than most bikes. Ducati Monster 
is another great easy to ride bike or as Rob mentioned yesterday the 
sports/tourer Honda VFR.
