I bought myself another 650 bandit a year ago. Mostly use it for a 100 mile a day commute, so it is perfect for that. I did try a Triumph Sprint ST, which was fantastic, but at more than twice the price of the Bandit, it was not twice the bike. Still if I win the lottery........

It was much better than the Honda / suzuki offerings, good tank range, suspension was a bit soft on the twisties when feeding it the berries. Just as long as the bike isn't an H-D or goldwing I am ok, if it has to be a cruiser I particularly don't like the versions with leather tassled panniers ;o) As as alternative you should try one of the BMW GS type adventure bikes. Great riding position and comfort, built to withstand a direct hit from an anti-tank missile and holds it value better than most bikes. Ducati Monster is another great easy to ride bike or as Rob mentioned yesterday the sports/tourer Honda VFR.
