We were generally on top for most of this game and deserved the win, though
there were occasions when we seemed determined to throw it away. Swindon
were quite quick, passed the ball well and at times caused the back four
quite a few problems.
Having got the negatives out of the way, let's look at the positives. Our
front two again played excellently and caused Swindon problems all afternoon
and Johnny Howson was magnificent, easily the best performance I have seen
from him, though some around us who were at the Bury game said he was pretty
god then too. Add on the return of a not yet fully fit but still quite
impressive Kishishev and things begin to look even better. Into the top four
and it's still November. Somebody said top by Christmas and I thought "Yeah
right" but it's begining to look as if it could happen.

Ankergen - did all he had to do well, no chance with the goal. Made one
superb save late on and they then put the rebound in by hand only to find
that everybody'd been offside in the first place.
7

Richardson - probably the pick of the back four yesterday, some shite
crosses in attack though 7

Marques - has not looked as steady in these last few games
6

Heath - his poorest game for quite some time, especially n the second half,
badly caught out for the goal 5

Clapham - OK but not the performance he would want us to remember him by
when he's back at Wolves. Unlucky not to score with a great shot that was
blocked on the line, the rebound popping up into the keeper's hands 6

Prutton - good steady game really settling in and becoming a power down the
right 7

Howson - my man of the match, a great performance, the highlight being the
pass that released Kandol who in turn fed Beckford fro the second goal
9

Hughes - not quite the all-action man yesterday but probably not back to
peak fitness. I really like this guy. He makes mistakes but never hides or
shirks and seems proud to wear the shirt and puts the tackles in and does
the runs. My kind of player 7

Carole - bit of a mixture 6

Kandol - not the most elegant of players but really works hard, created
several dangerous moments yesterday by putting defenders under pressure,
instrumental in setting up the second goal
8

Beckford - quick and talented, great penalty, took second goal superbly
8

Kishishev - good to see him back, Constantine - looked lively, De Vries -
great lump.

A word about the ref.
Swindon were evidently well pissed off with him and Eddie Gray said he was
crap (weak was his exact word), but I thought he was better than a lot we've
had. From our view point all their bookings looked well justified, though he
did look like he didn't want to give the penalty but the linesman kept his
flag firmly across his chest and justice was done.
