Betty my boy ... I think I said originally, I had never had an issue face to face. If I didn't say that, I meant to! As usual, your eloquently put repost has made me sit back and think about what I said. Firstly, I ain't no massive International footy fan either, give me LUFC anytime. And what I was saying may well be down to me 'biting the media carrot' somewhat, and yes ... it is usually lead by some "And finally ..." street interviews from the TV, but is it ALL manipulation. I have witnessed some pretty ferocious anti English sentiments in the build up to Old Firm and Edinburgh derbies but away from all that, nothing other than jovial banter. So is it a City thing then Betts? I also mentioned that these days it seems more 'Carry On Hating The English' than Bannockburn, almost a parody of historical differences, but the key to what I was trying to say was that deep down, I still wanted them to win, but my Corinthean spirit is slowly being eroded by a constant (media based ... I don't live up there) barrage of anti Englishness and I'm getting a tad bored of it.
I'm right about Andy Murray though matey ;-) _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
