I'm not going to do a full match report for 3 reasons... 1) Others have already done them
2) I don't have the writing skills for a decent readable essay 3) Half the time I hadn't a clue as to who the individual players in the Leeds shirts were! (I haven't been to a live game for a long while) But I did feel that in the first half, whilst we weren't actually good, we were not really that much, if any, worse that Tranmere 0-0 seemed about right to me. The second half was a different story though - The first Tranmere goal came early enough for me to comment that whilst I didn't think we deserved to be wining the game, we didn't really deserve to be losing it either! - however, after a further 5 more minutes play, I felt I ought to retract that statement. We really were only there to provide a team in different coloured shirts to Tranmere, sort of like a sparring partner to the boxing champ, not going to do anything to hurt the champ, just there to give him someone to hit and to take the punishment meted out by him. I thought that (especially in the first half) that Leeds made some very good tackles, but did anyone follow up the winning of the ball? No, of course not, Invariably the hard won ball just went to another Tranmere player. Distribution was dire, even I could have anticipated some of the "passes" made. Macca has a lot of work in front of him, and I pray that he does just that and gets things going again as, at this moment, the wheels are off this season for us.
