Hi Chaps, I too have made a few little bets to keep up interest. I joined this prediction competition run by Ken Weavers from Blackwell's (I won it last time). Basically you try and predict results from all the 1st phase games, and then predict winners, finalists, semi finalists etc.
Anyway, I was so far behind after the 1st few days that I had to think of another way of keeping up interest. Figuring that sooner or later I would get a prediction right, I stated betting on the correct score and 1st goalscorer in each game + the combination. At £1 a bet it is only £6 a day, and as the minimum odds on any of those bets are about 5-1, you only have to win 1 bet to get your day's money back. So far (after 2 days), I'm a Princely £2.50 up :-) thanks to Yakim being the first scorer the other night, and Austria's late equaliser. To save too much agony, I'm going for the scores I originally predicted before the tournament started. Tonight I've gone for Holland 2 France 1 (9-1), Kuyt to score first (11-1) + the combination at 66-1 And Italy 1 Romania 0 (9-2), Pirlo (14-1) I think he's a great player too Rob, Everything effortless, the 1st touch - perfect. Combination is 45-1 One thing to beware on these scorecasts, as Ladbrokes call them. - You don't get the full multiple for the double bet. ie the combination bet on the first one above is not 120-1. Having thought about it, it is because they are not mutually exclusive events, such as a horse-racing double, or a double on the two matches. One part of the scorecast can influence the other. So they are not trying to 'do' you. Ta Ta.
