Couple of thoughts on Delph. Like Gaffer says, I hope he says injury free. Whether he stays with us is less certain. Partly it depends on whether his impact continues and his abilities and skills develop. There've been quite a few players over the years that have had an immediate impact when joining the club, only to see that impact decline. Often this is due to opposition managers not knowing the player so having no nulification plan, but half a season later finding one. I wonder if this will happened to Delph? And in some ways I wish we could kind of keep quiet about Delph. It's nice that Steve Claridge writes complimentary words about him in a national paper, but in many respects I don't want his profile raised. It's sure to only bring interest on the pitch (double marking, hard tackles) and off the pitch (tapping up, gold diggers and knob heads). I suppose in many ways I just want my cake and to eat it - quality young player, having impacts on games, but that nobody somehow notices.
