Blimey - that's a bit one-eyed isn't it? - having run through our entire
defence, he's somewhere near the penalty spot, ball at feet, only the
keeper to beat, facing the goal, when an unguided-Hughes launches a
side-on attack taking his legs...

Perhaps I should have said "in the ref's opinion he hadn't yet reached a position of a clear goal scoring oportunity"!

let's see that happen on Saturday when
Beckford's through on goal and us all shrug our shoulders about the lack
of a red card...cue a load of witty comments about Beckford being 12
yards out not really constituing a "goal-scoring" situation...

You're right about Enoch, forgotten that one.

I'd suggest that the guy hadn't yet got into position where he had a
"clear
goal-scoring opportunity" hence no sending off. I'm surprised Hughes
wasn't
booked though.
I think if he'd let the guy alone he'd have got so excited after his
dramatic run he'd have blazed the ball anywhere but in the net! Talking
of bookings, Showumni was very lucky to escape one when he cabbaged
their guy for no good reason.
